| One of many icons produced for Franz Nicolay (of The Hold Steady and World Inferno/ Friendship Society fame) and his military-themed cabaret-punk outfit Major General.
We were first introduced to Franz through The Hold Steady on their Separation Sunday tour, where his operatic backing vocals and and drill-sergeant spins immediately brought an eccentric, theatrical dimension to their live performances. It’s not everyone who can play keyboard with one hand while twirling a wine bottle high in the air between swigs— Franz is a true entertainer in every sense of the word. |
